Baker Renewable Energy is currently installing the new solar hot water system. The new state of the art system is comprised of 138 individual collectors which is equivalent to a 276kW photovoltaic system. This represents the largest solar hot water system in VA, as well as the largest solar powered system in VA.
This represents the largest solar hot water system in VA.New River Regional Jail will be able to produce 2.5 million gallons of hot water annually with this new system which represents 30% of the facilities annual usage. The solar thermal collectors are manufactured by SolarHot.
